On 1 June, members of the Women's Association of Chinese Consulate General in Perth headed by Mrs Xing Chao, wife of Consul-General Lei Kezhong, visited High Gate Primary School in Perth and donated both Chinese and English books to the school. High Gate Primary School Principal Mr Stephen Ivey together with 100 school teachers and students attended the donation ceremony.

Mrs Xing sent International Children's Day greetings to the students and extended appreciation to the Primary School for making tireless efforts in teaching Chinese and Chinese Culture. She also welcomed the students to visit the Chinese Consulate General. Mrs Xing Chao also answered the students 'questions about China.
Principal Ivey thanked the Consulate General for donating books to the school and expressed the hope that the students would have a better understanding about China after reading the books. He also said that High Gate Primary School attached importance to Chinese language teaching and encouraged more students to learn Chinese and contribute to Sino-Australia friendship.
